Achieving your Goals - Living your dream life

1.  Starts with the right Attitude

When you view the world with an Attitude of Gratitude you train yourself to focus on what is good in life.

Count your blessings, be grateful and know that life has positive come backs when your out puts are positive.

2.  Write down your goals

Write down all the goals that you would like to achieve, write them down and go through them.

No matter how big or small they might seem, again I say write them down.

Those that have written down their goals have far more chance of achieving them, it has been proven.

3.  Persistance pays

Pays off big time, those that have achieved great things were not more talented or cleverer, they just never gave up no matter what.

Pesistance is the most important asset you can have.

And there will come times when you want to give up, it might happen often or it might never happen.  Or you might come accross obstacles that you just cannot see your way over.  Take a few steps back and some deep breaths and view the obstacle from another point of view.

4.   Start with the FIRST STEP

Everything begins with the first - thought, deed, action - step taken.

We can talk about things forever but until we take the first step - the journey has not yet begun.

These can be baby steps - making the phone call, writing the letter, enrolling for the first lesson, applying to register your company, looking for the car you want (yes even before you have the money) start the ball rolling in the direction you want to go.

Tick off the small achievements that you've made in each area and congratulate yourself.

This way you will be amazed at how far you can get in life with your goals.

4.  You dont have to know everything

Remember that you DONT HAVE to know everything, you WILL learn along the way.

Doors will open, people will want to help you, books will fall into your lap - all you have to do is take the first step - work at it and watch the road unfold infront of you.

5.  Dont be affraid of making mistakes

We all know that those people that never made mistakes in life - never made anything.

Making mistakes and failing is sometimes necessary for us to learn and grow.

How else are we going to help someone else to grow - if we dont have an understanding of failure.

Learn from the mistake or failure - pick yourself up - and continue.

6.  Remember people will always be there to judge, pass comments or give wonderful advice

Right thoughout your life you will have people coming and going and their comments, judgements and advice will also come and go.

Learn to take the positive with the negative, sometimes a persons comments are more off a reflection of themselves than of you.

Create a positive self image and a deep belief in yourself and who you are.

Know yourself and the direction you want to head in.  Be strong in this.

7.   Hang with the right people

Yes hang out with positive people, people with great morals and healthy habits.

You are always fully compensated for whatever you do, positive or negative.

8.  Help others achieve their dreams and goals

From Zig Ziglar " you can have anything you want in life if you just help enough people get what they want"

Also comes from "whatsoever a man soweth, that also shall he reap"

So start sowing those seeds and achieving those goals

Whatever is happening to you know and going on in your life is a result of past choices.

9. These 5 points to note:

-  Am I clear about my goals

-  Do I have a plan and deadline for attaining them

-   Do I have confidence in my ability to succeed (Positive self image) if you dont  - then work on this.

-   Do I have iron-willed determination - regardless of circumstances, criticism, obstacles - to achieve this goal

-  Do I have a burning desire to achieve this goal.

10.   What motivates you?

- They must be your personal goals

- Write them down - state them positively

- Write them down - be specific - (example: I am going to apply for learners licence in January)

- They must be realistic, compatible and attainable. - Can fit into day to day planning - and within your value system

- They must include basic personal changes:  "Being" comes before "Having" - meaning right habits & attitudes before goals are achieved.

WHAT EVER YOUR GOAL - STICK WITH IT - LEAVE NO ROOM FOR DEFEAT!
