Business Women Awards - calls for Nominations

Call for Nominations

She is successful and influential and a leading light in South African business.
She is a role model and mentor.
She is making significant and positive contributions to her organisation
and her community.

Is this exceptional person someone you know?

Then why not give her the recognition she deserves by nominating her for the
BWA 31st Anniversary Businesswoman of the Year Award, supported by Nedbank for 2010?

This Award has been honouring South Africa's outstanding businesswomen since 1980.
It has grown in stature over the last 30 years, to become the premier event
of its kind in the country and a notable part of the South African business calendar.

Since the award's inception in 1980, the objectives of the award have remained consistent:

  • To recognise the success of women leaders in business, thereby creating a cadre of female role models whose achievements will inspire other women to raise their sights and reach their goals.
  • To create a mechanism for applauding and celebrating women's contribution to the economy.
  • To use the event as a fund-raiser to offer bursaries for women for business studies

The BWA Businesswoman of the Year Award, supported by Nedbank, is not a lifetime achievement award. This encourages entries by women from various age groups and at different career stages.

The past years have seen some of our most exceptional businesswomen nominated by their peers - women who have made their mark, inspiring and empowering those around them.
Women such as Maria Ramos, Marina Maponya, Reeva Forman, Sindi Zilwa, Irene Charnley, Jane Raphaely, Dr Anna Mokgo Mokgosi-Mwantembe, Renee Silverstone, Mardia van der Walt-Korsten & Chichi Maponya
and most recently Venete Klein and Carol Weaving.

The Businesswomen's Association (BWA) and Nedbank
honour the passion and commitment of these women.
